Now that we've paid the deposit for our wedding banquet and the date has been firmed up, the next thing on my to do list to decide on a theme and do up the invites and outfits. šŸ˜…šŸ˜…

So much to do and so little time šŸ˜‚ #dayrebrides

Oh if you're wondering where we decided to have our banquet… it'll be held at…

China Club!

I love how the interior is traditionally Chinese yet super classy and intimate.

Since it was going to be a Chinese banquet, I decided to just go all out with the oriental theme and choose a super oriental location anyway. Plus when it's night time, the view is amazing and it becomes so much more intimate.

I've been coming here for special occasion brunches with my family since young so it's got some sense of familiarity šŸ˜

This decor seriously sigh. I also love the hard wood floors and the long corridors

Check out their mooncake boxes from 2015. I love it. I like how they go all out to embrace the oriental China theme and make it so freaking authentic.

I think the problem with alot of Singaporean weddings is that the theme is always not here not there. We want to have a Chinese banquet but want to hold it in a hotel and have it half ang moh style and it ends up being caught in between.

That's why I chose CC in the end. So everything can be done all out Chinese style hehe.

Plus, I've always loved having oriental bits in my wedding (remember my super ostentatious fire engine red floral wreath that was borderline tribal and my Ang pao box?)

So it really is right up my alley to have an oriental wedding. It was quite difficult to convince the folks in the beginning (cos only 30 tables and no stage) but once we brought them there for dinner, they were sold.

I think Papa Ng especially liked how oriental could be done with so much class.

No central stage

I guess one of the biggest drawbacks (or to me a perk) of this location is that it doesn't have a central stage, so you can't have all eyes on you if you're planning to have like a speech or toast etc.

The entire layout is a rectangular shape with a hollow in the middle cos they have an attic. So your guests can't really have a central view šŸ˜…

But we don't intend to have like performances and want to keep it a simple dinner hence we are totally cool with this! šŸ’ÆšŸ’Æ

Exclusivity

I'm not usually too bothered by this, cos there's no such thing as exclusive la. But since we decided on this location, I guess the exclusivity is an added bonus?

You gotta be a member to even dine at China Club and it's located in Capitol Tower which also holds GIC and you gotta change 3 lifts to reach its 50 something (can't rmb lol) floor location so I guess that's pretty cool.

But tbh we don't really care la šŸ˜‚ Food good can le!

Runner up locations

We initially also thought of having the banquet at one degree 15 marina club since Dan's family has a membership but I really wanted something with more character and a strong theme (sucker for themes) so I chose China Club instead.

So we're going all out with the oriental theme and the next order of business is to choose my 褂ļ¼ļ¼I'm super excited hehe. I've narrowed down my selections to a few and am thinking of having a navy blue version instead of a red one but…am still thinking about it!

I'm still pretty obsessed over this one worn by liushishi, but I'm half hearted cos… HAHAHAHA everyone will know it's popularized by her.

But too pretty and who cares la HAHA. Still undecided tho! šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Also super in love with this number, but not crazy about the colour. Hehe. I like how it's semi traditional and has it's own touch.

Seems like…I might need to come up with my own special tweaks šŸ˜±šŸ˜‚

She also has a matching outfit for her husband and I love it! Always found it odd when the groom wears a suit but the bride wears a Kua.

I love this aiyo so perfect except the orange šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

This groom's outfit is so cute also!!! I love how all the grooms wear pastels. Hehe. So cute and so soft. I love love love it.

The red is slightly bright tho! šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

In my previous Kua post I talked alot about the types of Kua and like double layered sleeves VS single layered sleeves. But I think ultimately, it doesn't matter to me la. It's interesting to know about the tradition behind, but in the end it's most important to choose something you like.

And I'd prefer something with a lower collar, single layer sleeves and a fuller skirt cos I have bigger hips and not so good figure šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Accessories and whatnot

I'm also super torn between keeping my hair simple, or going ALL OUT with the traditional accessories šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

A part of me just wants to BAM and have all that gold and traditional stuff in cos it's so pretty but I'm also worried that it'll be over the top cos the Kua is probably super eye catching already šŸ˜‚

Michelle Chen from Na Xie Nien chose to keep it simple with just a braided updo and just one simple hair accessory and it was gorgeous and elegant. šŸ˜±

But there are so many cute as f accessories that are just making my heart go badum badum šŸ˜±šŸ˜±šŸ˜±

Like this one with little houses. Aiyoooooo.

And these with pomegranates aiyoooooo. Hehe symbol of fertility!!! šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

So so so cute sigh.

All these gold accessories also brings up the topic of the only thing I specifically asked from Daniel for our Chinese wedding…

A gold pig + piglet necklace

Uhm, you know like this one šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

I actually really really really like it and think it is super cute. It is also super duper gawdy and obiang and old fashion BUT THAT'S ALSO PART OF THE REASON WHY I LOVE IT.

Whoever came up with this and is so unabashedly obiang and in your face, THANKS I LOVE IT šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Also love the 100 piglets šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

So weird to be asking for stuff, but I really really like this and I think it's beyond cute šŸ˜‚

Hehe. Have you #dayrebrides liked anything so gawdy before? I want to kpo and know šŸ™ˆšŸ™ˆšŸ™ˆ

Bridesmaids and Groomsmen outfits

Now that we are on the topic of outfits, dressing the bridesmaids and groomsmen are going to be a small tiny problem if we want an all oriental them.

The girls keep joking they want to be like the helpers in huanzhugege (I WAS OBSESSED WITH THIS SHOW TILL THE RIPE OLD AGE OF 13, ARE YOU TEAM ZIWEI OR XYZ?????) But I don't want them to look like servants????????

HAHA even if it's for a day and just for cackles, I don't think it's appropriate. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Btw, I'm team ZIWEI HAHAHAHAHAH. So embarrassing but it's true. I think it's got something to do with the fact that my true character is alot more like xyz, brash, unrestrained and super kpo + like to stand up for others in shit situations, so there's this grass is greener on the other side syndrome and I like ZIWEI more šŸ˜‚

Kinda like if you can never be her, you'll look upon her life fondly. Quite shiok to forever be protected what HAHA. Although having some kungfu to kick ass is quite cool.

Just wanna say I am fully knowing that Ziwei is overly dramatic, whiney and always crying plus completely unable to take care of her own life and uh I don't want to be her in real life.

I JUST LIKE HER CHARACTER IN A MADE UP STORY LINE. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ Ok #defenseover.

So…which team are you on? #hzgg #teamzw #teamxyz

I really like the embroidery on this one, plus the baby pink and Chinese collar just makes my heart flutter, but I'm always leaning towards midi length dresses cos that's more…me HAHA.

I don't really like showing too much leg and I find midi length to be the classiest (but that's just me la if you have nice legs pls flaunt it hehe. I benefit also from getting to see nice legs šŸ˜±šŸ˜±)

I am keeping this in consideration and hopefully I can convince someone to make this longer šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

I also thought of pairing this with a poofy skirt and calling it a day HAHA.

I love the colours on this! Cream and dusty blue sigh. So oriental and so so so so gorgeous and elegant. Aiyo!!!

I'm a sucker for elegant looking pieces that are not too OTT with the colours so this sings to me šŸ™ˆ

I also like this, but the cut is really unforgivable. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ And it's important to note that your bridesmaids are gonna be of different shapes and sizes so you gotta consider that.

The last thing I wanna do is to stress my bridesmaids out because they can't fit into a dress I chose. Yes, I'm the bride and it's my special day, but they are my friends and they are special to me.

Which is why sometimes it's damn hard to find a suitable dress. šŸ˜‚

This is so cute also! Just a simple outerwear. But too short also. I like the colours tho!! šŸ˜

On to the boys…

Hehehehe thinking of something like this. Plain and simple. Like what Ip Man wore šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

I think husband ng's best men are gonna hate me for life šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

But HAHAHAHAHA once in a lifetime plus next time can wear during Halloween šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ #ded
