Daniel and I never really celebrate Valentine’s Day. 😅
Our idea of a Valentine’s is to spend it at home, on the couch, watching TV and eating ice cream + home cooked food.
And I think we did that this year. In our own pace nonetheless!
Husband Ng outdid himself this Valentine and came home with not one, but 3 pints of ice cream.
I had to remind him to bring me a surprise cos it’s valentine’s. If not I think he will come home with only smelly gym socks and clothes as a present 😅

Corned Beef Hash
While Daniel was out, I made Corned Beef Hash!
Uh, it’s not healthy despite being home cooked so we only save it for special occasions 😅
Easy to make tho!
You just need:
- Potatoes
- Onions
- Garlic
- Ketchup
- Salt + Pepper
- Corned beef
Diced onions and uh if you’re lazy you can just throw them into the frying pan so you don’t have to wash another bowl 😅
Put into a frying pan and let the onions soften in olive oil, under medium heat.
Throw in the canned beef.
Btw, I hate those canned beef that is opened with a key and you twist it to open up the can. Wtf man!
The key broke on the second turn and I had to cut the can open with a bloody pair of scissors and stabbed myself 😐
Btw yes! Throw in the canned beef before you dice the potatoes cos the beef takes quite long to brown and you want to leave it on the stove as long as possible!
I added in the potato by batches so they could cook longer.
For example, dice one potato then put it into the pan, then continue to dice the other while the one in the pan cooks.
Works!
After that I put them into shallow casseroles to crisp up in the oven. About 10 mins at 250 degs Celsius.
Also cooked some lentil rice to eat with!
Veey yummy leh! And easy too!
Gonna try out your recipe! I haven’t had this in aaaages.
